CSX Transportation has notified the City that they will have a surfacing team starting in Sumter starting January 29, 2024 for a minimum of two weeks. This will require a total closure of the railroad crossings. A total closure meaning no traffic will be allowed across the track until the work is complete. Our Tire Buy-Back event is past weekend was very successful. We rescued 995 old tires from becoming trash along our roads.
