The Engineering Department is responsible for administrative and engineering services for the City's Public Services. The main activities of the Engineering Department include:
- Plan Review – The Engineering Department reviews proposed development plans to ensure adherence to engineering requirements for Design and Construction related to public infrastructure including water, sewer, storm drainage, and roads.
Site and Utility Work Inspections – Engineering Employees ensure that approved projects and utility work in the rights of way are constructed according to approved plans and permits.
Street Right-of-Way Management – Engineering Employees ensure that City-owned and maintained streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way are constructed and maintained according to established policy.
- Utility Infrastructure Design and Project Management – The Engineering Department has in-house engineering capabilities for small improvement or repair projects relating to City owned infrastructure. Consultants and contractors are employed for major projects.
Capital Projects - Administration of capital projects to improve the City's utility, facility, street, and park infrastructure.
