This fully paved trail is accessible to people of all ages, providing a safe and efficient route for cyclists and pedestrians. It connects neighborhoods, parks, goods, and services while serving as a vital greenspace in the heart of the city. Along the Shot Pouch Branch, the greenway not only protects water quality but also preserves a natural habitat for abundant wildlife.

Trailheads:

There are three (3) major trailheads to the Greenway, all with ample, free parking.

1. Swan Lake Iris Gardens Trailhead (9 Bland Avenue) 

   

   • Directions: From US 76/US 378 in Sumter. Drive south on Alice Drive (SC 120) to West Liberty (SC 763). Turn left and drive approximately .25 mile and turn left onto Bland Avenue. The parking lot and trail entrance is located right at the intersection of Bland Avenue and Liberty Street.
   • Restroom facilities are located just inside the entrance.
   • While dogs and bicycles are allowed on the greenway, they are not allowed on any other trails at Swan Lake.

2. Dillon Park Trailhead (1210 Clara Louise Kellogg Drive)

   

   • Directions: From Broad Street (Business 76) in Sumter, drive north on US 521 and turn right onto N. Pike West. Drive 1.4 miles and turn left onto Clara Louise Kellogg Drive. The park is on the left. Turn left at stop sign at the entrance to Crystal Lakes Golf Course and follow the park road around to the parking lot on the left. The Trailhead is located at the intersection across the street from the parking lot).
   • Restroom facilities are located adjacent to the parking lot, under the pavilion.

3. Broad Street trailhead (619 Broad Street)

   • Directions: From Shaw AFB, located on Business 76E, Use two lanes to stay on Broad Street Parking is on your left. This is the middle section of the greenway. Trailhead splits North to head to Dillon Park and South to head to Swan Lake Iris Gardens.
   • Phase one of this trailhead is currently under construction. The trail is open during construction; however parking is limited. Once completed this trailhead will feature a playground, picnic shelter, food truck court, restrooms and parking. Phase two of this trailhead will bring a bike pump track and a skate park.
