Please call Public Services at (803) 436-2558 by Thursday at 4 p.m. to arrange for cardboard pickup on Fridays.
Residential Garbage
Residential household garbage is picked up at the curbside for all residents inside the City limits. There is a monthly $13.00 charge for garbage, cardboard recycling, and yard debris collection from the curb, which is reflected each month on your water bill.
The City furnishes one roll-a-way cart for each resident. If additional carts are needed, they may be purchased from the City of Sumter Utility Billing Office by calling (803) 436-2541.

Weekly residents are asked to have their roll cart at the curb by 7:00 AM for collection and leave them out until 7:00 PM that evening.
Holiday schedules:
The City of Sumter will pick up residential trash as usual on all holidays, except Christmas Day. The City of Sumter will not pick up residential trash on Christmas Day. Instead, trash will be collected on either the Saturday before or after Christmas day.
