City of Sumter Invites Residents to Learn About the City’s Latest Preservation Efforts

The City of Sumter is excited to invite residents to a public presentation of the Historic Resources Survey for the Westend, Hampton Park, and Mason Croft neighborhoods on Monday, October 20, at 6:00 p.m. at the Meeting House at Memorial Park (110 N. Salem Street, Sumter, SC).

This event marks the conclusion of amonths-long project documenting the architectural and cultural heritage of three of Sumter’s storied neighborhoods. The City’s Department of Planning and Zoning and project partners will share key findings, discuss recommendations for future preservation efforts, and host a Q&A session to gather community feedback.

Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and celebrate the unique stories and architectural character of the Westend, Hampton Park, and Mason Croft communities. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to the area, this is an opportunity to learn how local history is being preserved for future generations.
