You are invited to attend the Palmetto Pro Open, June 12-18 at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, SC.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the tournament, and we are excited to announce that the tournament is one of nine 60K Pro Open events in the United States this year.
Tournament qualifying will take place, June 12-13. The main draw will run Tuesday through Friday, with singles matches in the mornings and doubles matches in the afternoons. A feature doubles match will take place on the evening of June 15, with doubles finals on June 17, followed by singles finals on June 18.
We will also be hosting special events throughout the week for media and guests.
Young women, ages 14-28 from more than 20 countries, will participate in Sumter’s 2023 Palmetto Pro Open $60,000 USTA Pro Circuit Event, including Piper Charney, a 17-year-old standout from Mt. Pleasant, SC, who is currently ranked 9th in the nation. Previous champions of the Palmetto Pro Open include Sophie Chang (2022), Peyton Stearns (2021), and Hailey Baptiste (2019).
The Palmetto Pro Open event debuted in Sumter in 2008 as a 10K, 128-player entry event. In 2015 the event became one of three 25K events in South Carolina with a 64-player entry. It is one of four USTA Pro Circuit women’s events held each year in South Carolina.
**No Admission Fee for Spectators. Shaded seating will be available on the courts right beside the action! We ask all spectators to be respectful to all players and attendees, limit noise and movement during an active match and refrain from entering certain marked areas around the grounds of the tennis center.
