This month, the City of Sumter will welcome The American Revolution Experience, a nationally traveling exhibit presented by the American Battlefield Trust. Designed to bring the story of America’s founding to life, the exhibit features interactive displays, authentic artifacts, and immersive digital experiences that connect visitors of all ages with Revolutionary War history.
Sumter is one of only two communities in South Carolina selected to host this prestigious exhibit. Residents and visitors can explore it at the Swan Lake Visitors Center from August 25 through September 17.
In addition to its engaging displays, The American Revolution Experience offers a variety of educational resources, including lesson plans and classroom materials crafted to support educators and inspire students. Teachers and school staff are encouraged to take advantage of this unique opportunity and stay tuned for announcements about additional programming.
