Sumter Unites in Faith and Service at 2025 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
May 1, 2025 Sumter, SC — This morning, the City of Sumter gathered in observance of the National Day of Prayer at the 2025 Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, held at Alice Drive Baptist Church. The event brought together civic leaders, clergy, educators, first responders, and residents to offer prayers for families and various workforces across the city.
The keynote address was delivered by Rodney Bullard, CEO of The Same House and former Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility at Chick-fil-A. A retired U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer and former White House Fellow, Bullard is widely recognized for his leadership in community engagement and philanthropy.
In his message, Bullard emphasized the power of personal impact, stating, “You can't change the world, but you can change what's happening 3 feet from you. That's where the change begins.” His words resonated deeply with attendees, reinforcing the importance of individual responsibility in fostering community transformation.
