City Holidays Announced for 2019 Calendar Year
The following is a holiday schedule for the City of Sumter for the 2019 Calendar Year.
On the following dates all City administrative offices will be closed. Please note that public safety and certain public service offices will remain open at all times.
- Tuesday, January 1 - New Year's Day
- Monday, January 21 - Martin Luther King's Birthday
- Monday, February 18 - President's Day
- Friday, April 19 - Good Friday
- Monday, May 27 - Memorial Day
- Thursday, July 4 - Independence Day
- Monday, September 2 - Labor Day
- Monday, November 11 - Veteran's Day
- Thursday, November 28 - Thanksgiving
- Friday, November 29 - Thanksgiving
- Tuesday, December 24 - Christmas
- Wednesday, December 25 - Christmas
- Thursday, December 26 - Christmas
The City of Sumter will pick up residential trash and recycling as usual on all holidays, except Christmas Day, December 25. The City of Sumter will not pick up residential trash, recycling or yard debris on December 25.
Any make-up days due to holidays and inclement weather and any other specified dates of non-pickup, will be announced closer to that date, please check our news feed and social media links for additional information.
