City Council meetings are held the first and third Tuesday of each month (except the first Tuesday in July).
The first meeting of each month, the meetings are held at 1 PM, while the second meeting is held at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers on the 4th Floor of the Sumter Opera House, 21 N. Main Street (enter thru the back parking lot entrance, and take elevator to 4th floor).
City Council hosts a public comment period on the third Tuesday of each month. While all public are invited to attend each meeting, only City residents, or those who have a financial stake in a property within the City limits, may comment.

PUBLIC ACCESS INFO FOR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS:
During the COVID-19 pandemic and for the safety of all involved, city council chambers are limited. The second meeting of each month has been reserved for in-person public hearings and public comment. However, the public is invited to leave a comment form anytime before or after each meeting by clicking here. Those comments received in time for the meeting will be read aloud at the second meeting of each month. Masks and social distancing are required to enter the facility until further notice.
