Swan Lake Iris Gardens Main Entry Closing Temporarily for Construction

We are excited to announce that Swan Lake Iris Gardens is getting a grand new entrance! With that, starting Monday, July 29, our main entrance will be closed for the duration of construction. This closure affects the main parking lot, including areas near the Main Gate, Visitors Center, Iris Market and children’s playground.

Our new entrance will showcase a massive 24-foot swan sculpture by world renowned artist Grainger McKoy and a right hand turning lane for travelers heading east on Liberty Street.

This project is being paid for primarily through the generosity of private grant funding.

While the main area will be unavailable, there are three (3) additional entry gates, one on the North side, by the Gazebo and two close to the Heath Pavilion, along Garden Street. Please remember, for safety concerns, the public is asked not to park along Garden Street, but in designated parking areas. There are two large, bus accessible parking fields at the Heath for patrons and two large parking areas on the Gazebo side, including our bus accessible area off Bland Avenue. All visitors are asked to use the pedestrian bridge for safe access across Liberty Street. The bridge offers the convenience of both stairs and elevators for all patrons.

The gardens and visitors center will remain open during the construction, for more info, please call the Visitors Center at 803-436-2640. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to seeing you at Swan Lake Iris Gardens!
