Help Us Celebrate Arbor Day 2021

The City of Sumter is celebrating Arbor Day on December 3, 2021 at Swan Lake Iris Gardens at 11am. In honor of the 2021 Arbor Day we will be planting a Dogwood Tree at Swan Lake Iris Gardens.

Part of this event will be recognizing the 2021 TreesSC Heritage Tree and Golden Acorn Award.  The Heritage Tree is a Chinese fir at Swan Lake and Brock McDaniel with the City of Sumter is the Golden Acorn winner. This is a video of the Chinese fir - https://youtu.be/A88QBVFjpJQ

The public is invited to join the celebration in Sumter this Friday, located at 822 W. Liberty Street.
