Sumter, S.C. (October 4, 2015, 8:45 PM) The City of Sumter is starting to experience some major issues with our potable (drinking) water system.

These issues are directly related to the rain and flood levels we've experienced over the past 24 hours. Please continue to call 803-436-2558, to report any issues as they arise at your home and all customers are encouraged to boil your water, especially if you are using it for consumption (drinking and cooking).

We cannot fully assess the situation until the flood levels recede, so the timeline is unknown for when fixes will be completed. However, we will continue to work as quickly as we can to fix all issues.
