The City of Sumter is proud to announce the winners of this year’s Mayor’s Christmas Card Contest and to celebrate the remarkable creativity shown by students across our community. Each submission captured the wonder of the season and reflected the joy, imagination, and hometown pride that make Sumter such a special place.
This year’s top honors go to two outstanding young artists. Analeah Rigby, a 6th grader at Hillcrest Middle School, has been selected as the artist for the front of the City’s official Christmas Card. Phillip Brock, a 4th grader at Cherryvale Elementary School, earned the spot for the inside of the card. Both students’ artwork beautifully embodies the spirit of the holiday season.
In addition to being featured on the 2025 Christmas card, Analeah and Phillip will each receive an Apple iPad courtesy of FTC and the exciting opportunity to see their drawings brought to life as part of the Fantasy of Lights display at Swan Lake Iris Gardens.
The City also extends congratulations to the contest’s Honorable Mention recipients:
- Kindergarten: Raelyn Thames, Manchester Elementary
- 1st Grade: Kylen Vanvuren, Manchester Elementary
- 2nd Grade: Gunner Goff, Manchester Elementary
- 3rd Grade: Vincent Biehl, Cherryvale Elementary
- 5th Grade: Brent Mandani, Cherryvale Elementary
- 7th Grade: Ashtyn McCray, Chestnut Oaks Middle
- 8th Grade: Laila Givens, Hillcrest Middle
Each Honorable Mention student will receive a framed certificate and a $20 gift card in recognition of their creativity and Christmas cheer.
All winners and runners-up were recognized during the Fantasy of Lights Opening Ceremony on Monday, December 1, at Swan Lake Iris Gardens. They will also be honored at the Sumter City Council Meeting on Tuesday, December 16 at 5:30 p.m.
