Whether you are planting trees and shrubs, installing a fence or deck, doing it yourself or hiring a professional, call 811 before you dig! Don't rely on memory or markings. There may be multiple utility lines in an area and they may vary in depth.
Digging without calling may disrupt service to an entire neighborhood, harm you and those around you and potentially result in fines and repair costs. Calling 811 before every digging job gets your underground utility lines marked for free and helps prevent undesired consequences.
In compliance with the South Carolina Call Before You Dig Law, any activity that results in the movement, placement, probing, boring, or removal of earth, rock, or other material in or on the ground requires the excavator to contact the One Call Center with adequate information regarding the dig.
Remember… It’s The Law!!
SC811’s service is FREE to anyone digging.
SC811 is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. Web tickets may be entered 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. The toll free number is (888) 721-7877 or 811 (the National Three Digit Call Before You Dig phone number).
