Engineering

The Engineering Department is responsible for administrative and engineering services for the City's Public Services.  The main activities of the Engineering Department include:

 

  • Plan Review – The Engineering Department reviews proposed development plans to ensure adherence to engineering requirements for Design and Construction related to public infrastructure including water, sewer, storm drainage, and roads.

 

  •  Site and Utility Work Inspections – Engineering Employees ensure that approved projects and utility work in the rights of way are constructed according to approved plans and permits.

     

  • Street Right-of-Way Management – Engineering Employees ensure that City-owned and maintained streets, sidewalks, and rights-of-way are constructed and maintained according to established policy.

     

  • Utility Infrastructure Design and Project Management – The Engineering Department has in-house engineering capabilities for small improvement or repair projects relating to City owned infrastructure.  Consultants and contractors are employed for major projects.

 

  • Capital Projects - Administration of capital projects to improve the City's utility, facility, street, and park infrastructure.
