Sumter Building Department Receives Champion of Housing Award

The Home Builders Association of South Carolina and Building Industry Association (BIA) of Central South Carolina recently honored the Sumter City-County Building Inspection Department with the Champion of Housing award.

 

The Champion of Housing Award is given to public organizations which provide outstanding service to a local Builders Association and have made a significant contribution to the homebuilding industry at the local level.

 

In presenting the award, BIA Executive Director, Earl McLeod applauded the City-County Building Inspections Department for their leadership in establishing a business friendly atmosphere which promotes and routinely demonstrates exceptional levels of customer service and professionalism.

 

 

The award was accepted by Building Department Director, Steve Campbell and Building Official, Butch Avins at the BIA’s Central South Carolina General Membership meeting held November 12, 2015 at the Continental Tire Plant in Sumter, SC.

 

Other members of the City-County Building Inspection Department include Brent Bullard (Chief Inspector) and his team of Inspectors Woody Avins and Josh Reeser, which are all 100% ICC Certified. John Bogdany and Tripper Lee (Plans Review Technicians), Polk Sanders (Permit and Licensing Enforcement Officer), Debbie Rauch (Building Permit Technician), who is also ICC Certified, Cynthia Marshall (Building Inspections Scheduling Coordinator), Kim Lowder and Edna Parker (Building Department Clerks/Cashiers).
