City of Sumter, South Carolina - The City of Sumter will host a public workshop on Thursday, December 11, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Meeting House at Memorial Park, located at 112 North Salem Avenue.
As part of the Safe Streets for Sumter initiative, this workshop is the first major opportunity for residents to learn about the Safety Action Plan currently under development and to provide direct feedback that will help shape future recommendations. The Safety Action Plan aims to address ongoing issues and move the community toward a long term goal of zero traffic deaths and serious injuries.
Attendees will be able to review current data, learn about the planning process, and speak directly with project team members. Multiple stations will be available for residents to identify unsafe locations, share personal experiences, and provide input on strategies that may improve safety across the city. This feedback will assist the project team as they analyze crash trends, evaluate conditions, and prepare draft recommendations for consideration during the next phase of the plan.
Residents who cannot attend in person may participate through the online survey available on the project website at SumterSC.gov/SS4A.
