Local Sports and Sports Tourism in Sumter continues to grow each year. The Sumter Recreation and Athletic Association is an organized group of Recreation and Athletic Directors working together as a collaborative community team.  Monthly meetings provide the group an opportunity to communicate with each other as well as the city and county government officials assisting the activities.  Local schools, universities and government facilities have made the step forward to better serve your recreation and athletic needs.   Sumter Sports is for you!

  1. To provide the community with a central organization for communicating athletic and recreational opportunities including but not limited to registrations, facility needs, and skill development.
  2. To encourage citizens and organizations to be proactive in safe and healthy practices and promoting good sportsmanship,
  3. To be an example of balanced cooperation, diplomacy and respectfulness.
  4. To encourage citizens and organizations to operate with the highest ethical business practices.
  5. To provide/share document examples and forms that can be customized by each group or member organization.
  6. To provide a forum for communicating athletic and recreational activities including but not limited to joint marketing in social media and cross promoting events through available marketing avenues.
