Iris Festival Parade
The Jamil Streakers of Sumter, in cooperation with the Sumter Iris Festival, invite you to the 10th Annual Shrine Day Parade—at night! This year’s parade will be held on Saturday evening, May 28, 2015, beginning at 8:00 p.m. Local dignitaries, beauty queens, funny cars, floats, bands, and of course, the silly Shriners in their little cars and trucks, will be zipping up and down the West Liberty Street.
The parade route begins at the Sumter County Civic Center and proceeds past Swan Lake Iris Gardens before turning right onto Alice Drive. The parade will then turn right onto Miller Road and end at USC Sumter.
The Shriner’s Streakers mission has been to give support and hope to the kids of Sumter for almost 90 years. This exciting event assists the Shriners in fulfilling that mission.
