Iris Festival King and Queen
For more than 20 years, the Sumter Volunteers have hosted the crowning of the Iris Festival King and Queen. Area high schools will send their brightest and best students to compete. The King and Queen are chosen from area seniors and future leaders, based on achievements in scholarship, character, school and civic involvement. Each winner is awarded a $500 scholarship. The Iris Festival King and Queen will be crowned during the Opening Ceremony of the Festival at the Heath Pavilion on Thursday, May 26 at 5:15 p.m.
